He is a collaborator in the ABC Expeditions project, in the field of herpetology.

Marcelo Gordo holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp, 1989), a Master's degree in Biology (Ecology) from the National Institute for Amazon Research (INPA, 1998) and a PhD in Zoology from the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi (MPEG, 2012). He is currently an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM). He has experience in ecology and taxonomy, working mainly on the following topics: Amazon, conservation, Saguinus bicolor, herpetofauna and mammals.
