Sophia is a collaborator in the ABC Expeditions project, in the field of herpetology.

Sophia Kusterko Novaes is a student of Biological Sciences (undergraduate degree) at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) since 2017. She is a volunteer researcher in the Laboratory of Ecology of Amphibians and Reptiles, focusing on the area of anuran ecology. She participates in a research group in plant ecology, about an endemic species of the Serra Catarinense, the pataguá-cinzeiro (Crinodendron brasiliense).
