Renann Henrique Paiva Dias da Silva

Renann is a researcher in the ABC Expeditions project, working with large mammal sampling.

Renann Henrique Paiva Dias da Silva has a degree in Biological Sciences from the Faculty of Health Sciences of São Paulo (FACIS, 2011). He has a Master’s and is currently a doctoral student in Zoology at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM). His research project focuses on the diet and feeding ecology of primates of the genus Cacajao. He worked in the National Forest Inventory (IFN), coordinated by the Brazilian Forest Service (SFB), as Forest Analyst in the Brazilian states of Tocantins and Maranhão. He has experience as a biologist in field work (terra firme forests, flooded forests, cerrados, mangroves and urban areas); floristic inventory; fauna survey, monitoring and management of different taxonomic groups; academic research (5 years); advisory in the management of Municipal Conservation Unit (3 years and 8 months); teaching in basic and technical education (2 years); in the management of contaminated areas (survey of environmental liabilities and remediation) (1 year and 4 months) as field technical biologist; and in urban pest control (3 months) as a technical salesman. He also has experience as a freelancer in the production of documentaries as a botanical assistant and wildlife counter, as well as recreationist and environmental monitor for children and adolescents in open and closed environments, such as museums, aquariums, farms and parks.
