Raffaello Di Ponzio

Raffaello Di Ponzio has a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG, 2014), where he had experience with physiology of hematophagous insects, molecular biology and education. He has a Master’s in Ecology (2017) from the Postgraduate Programme in Ecology of the National Institute for Amazonian Research (INPA), where he worked with the effects of forest fragmentation on bat communities and bioacoustics. During his Master’s degree he was funded by Rufford Small Grants, National Geographic Society and IdeaWild. He was a teacher of Natural Sciences at the State Secretariat of Education of the State of Amazonas (SEDUC-AM) from 2019 to 2021. Since 2019 he is project manager of the Amazon Fertilization Experiment project (AFEX, the first large-scale fertilization experiment in the Amazon) and a PhD student in Ecology at ECMVS-UFMG, studying how soil fertility affects plant defence and their interspecific interactions.
