Marcio Luiz de Oliveira

He is a collaborator of the ABC Expeditions project, in the field of entomology.

Márcio Lúz de Oliveira holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF, 1988), Master's degree in Entomology from the National Institute for Amazon Research (INPA, 1994), doctorate in Entomology from the University of São Paulo, Ribeirão Preto campus (USP, 2000) and post-doctorate from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, USA (2011). He is a full researcher, curator of the Invertebrate Collection, and professor and advisor of the Graduate Program in Entomology at INPA, in the fields of systematics, taxonomy and ecology of Hymenoptera. He is also coordinator of the order Hymenoptera in the Taxonomic Catalogue of Fauna of Brazil (CTFB online) and coordinator of the Graduate Program in Entomology at INPA. He has experience in zoology, with emphasis on taxonomy, biogeography, ecology and conservation of bees.
