Alexandre Somavilla

He is a collaborator in the ABC Expeditions project, in the field of entomology.

Alexandre Somavilla holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC, 2009), and a Master’s and PhD in Biological Sciences (Entomology) from the National Institute for Amazon Research (INPA), with a Sandwich Doctorate period at the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH, USA) (August 2015 - February 2016 - CAPES Sandwich Doctorate Program Abroad). He has experience in zoology/entomology, with a focus on taxonomy of recent groups, taxonomy and systematics of wasps, using morphological and molecular data, and integrative taxonomy. He is currently a collaborating researcher (non-employee) at INPA, accredited in the Postgraduate Program in Entomology and member of the Committee of the Institutional Program of Scientific Initiation Grants PIBIC/PAIC/INPA, Biological Sciences, Subarea Zoology I.
